TWELFTH BRIGADE of the SFMC

The Twelfth Brigade (12th BDE) of the STARFLEET Marine Corps is the administrative headquarters for all SFMC members and units in the following five states: Arkansas, Illinois, Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma. Each of these states is referred to as a Battalion (BTN). Designated in alphabetical order, they comprise the First through Fifth of the Twelfth.

STARFLEET Marine Corps

The STARFLEET Marine Corps is a group affiliated with STARFLEET, The International Star Trek Fan Association Inc. The SFMC is considered an office under the Vice Commander, STARFLEET and as such reports to Vice Commander, STARFLEET.

Fictionally, the SFMC is part of the Ground Forces that are rarely seen in the episodes but are assumed to be a part of the Naval Fleet of the United Federation of Planets.

We are members of STARFLEET. The Corps does not have different requirements for membership, except that a STARFLEET Marine must be a member in good standing in STARFLEET. Although it does have a different name for each rank within the promotional system, and a different organizational structure than the Naval portion of STARFLEET, STARFLEET Marines are regular, dues paying members.

Some STARFLEET members are Marine Reserve. These are members who are active in the naval portion of the Fleet AND with the Ground Forces area as well. Occasionally you may find a STARFLEET Marine who is or was active military, but this is not a requirement to be in the Corps.

STARFLEET: The International Star Trek Fan Association, Inc.

For over 35 years, STARFLEET has provided Star Trek fans a way to meet each other, make friends, have fun, give back to their communities, and show that the dream of Gene Roddenberry can live long and prosper.  On the local level, members can gather with other fans for a variety of enjoyable activities.  On the international level, STARFLEET offers our members a wealth of resources that you won’t find in any other Star Trek fan clubs.  In addition to a great set of membership materials and our regularly-published newsletter, STARFLEET offers members the chance to get involved with STARFLEET Academy, the STARFLEET Marine Corps, the Department of Technical Services, and much, much more.  We even have a group of academic monetary scholarships that are awarded to deserving STARFLEET members each year.
